Academic Support Departments

Any engineering curriculum includes basic subjects in science and engineering, other than the subject of language of medium of instruction. PREC has given due weightage to these support departments.
 
PHYSICS
Physics provides the core programme to ECE, AEI, CSE, EE and Civil Engineering.

With extended experience, the faculty in the department do justice to their role in creating a physics oriented aptitude in the engineering aspirants.
 

MATHEMATICS
Mathematics is permanent requirement for engineering. This department in PREC is geared to ensure strong fundamentals with the strength of 10 year old Mathematics Department at PRC.
 

CHEMISTRY
Materials and their behaviour have great relevance in
biotechnology and civil engineering. Material science is chemistry dependent. Thus, the department of chemistry at PREC is an important wing.
 

ENGLISH
The Management of PRGI evinces a keen interest in empowering the students with English language comprehension and communication skills which provide them an edge over others
in employability. The ELT curriculm meant for Engineering students is transacted using Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) methods, strategies and techniques. A state-ofthe-
art language laboratory established is used for developing listening and oral communication skills in English. Further the Department organizes English for Specifi c Purpose (ESP) courses, like English for Management, Engineering, Hotel and Catering Technology students etc., besides conducting English for Academic (EAP) / Vocational (EVP) purpose courses.
 
LIBRARY

An ERP package for PRGI includes a Library Information System. PRGI is a member of British Council Library. Delnet service provides internet-based access facility to libraries across the world. The Library serves the needs of UG & PG Programmes of PREC, PRCE, PRTTI, PRIM, PRPC, PRICH. Total area is of 8000 sq.ft.
 
PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Represented Alagappa University in Volley Ball at Tamil Nadu, Inter University at Bharathidasan University. State level qualified official in Kabaddi, Basket Ball, Athletics and Shuttle Badminton.
